Distribution initiatives in cinema theatres “Short Cinema” are aimed at promoting short films and bringing them to the forefront of Lithuanian cinema. Through this program, the agency intends to curate relevant film programs that focus on contemporary topics, showcasing thought-provoking short films that are sure to capture the audience’s attention.

SHORT CINEMA 2020

“SHORT CINEMA. Our world” – a short film programme, which reveals how Lithuanian filmmakers live like today – films talk about the cold father – son relationship, the memories encoded in our hair, about the unknown and frightening side of our lives and behind-the-scenes work of the State Lithuanian Language Commission.

“SHORT CINEMA. Lithuanian films for kids” – adventurous, inspiring and instructive short film programme by Lithuanian creators for young cinema lovers. The programme presents 3 animation films that take you to bright and colorful world, where you can see adventures of the bear Mikas and his best friends squirrel Sonata and cat Gabriel, the girl Matilda who wants to become the smartest girl in the whole world and the hilarious horse Barbora.

SHORT CINEMA 2022

“SHORT CINEMA. Everything about us” – short film program that invites you to immerse yourself in lives full of irony, romantic feelings, nostalgia and action. Five stories by Lithuanian filmmakers are full of comic and shocking reflections of reality, searches for closeness, and everyday defeats. Discover the complexities of love, unravel the conversations of strangers inside a limousine, and navigate the challenges of reuniting with a distant family member. All films were presented at Venice, Warsaw, London, Glasgow film festivals and continue their journey in Lithuania.

„SHORT CINEMA. New voices“ – a program of relevant and engaging Lithuanian cinema, which presents five short films created by talented new generation Lithuanian directors. Films of various types of cinema are united by the desire to learn about human relationships and offer an authentic approach to the environment around us. Therefore, in the short stories, everything is a bit different – the sailor’s romance is replaced by homesickness, the desire to win a ballroom dance competition is met with disappointment, tolerance for a person with a disability disappears in a critical situation, images of happy families hide a sad childhood.

SHORT CINEMA 2025

Short Cinema. Delicate Matters – a programme featuring the latest and most captivating Lithuanian short films, full of action, humor, tension, and mystery. These absurdly funny yet deeply moving stories explore familiar life situations: a mother’s sacrifice for her son’s future; a daughter’s effort to organize a traditional funeral in unconventional circumstances; an unexpected phone call between a helpline worker and a stranger; the private shopping lists of shopping mall visitors; and a meeting with a charismatic anatomy professor who handles delicate matters with exceptional finesse.
