About us

The Lithuanian Short Film Agency “Lithuanian Shorts” is the main non-governmental organization fostering short film culture at both the national and international levels. The primary goals of the agency are to actively represent Lithuanian short films and filmmakers, and to implement initiatives for audiovisual culture accessibility, education, and audience development.

Founded in 2012 by film projects manager Rimantė Daugėlaitė and film producer Marija Razgutė as a platform for the distribution of Lithuanian short films, the agency has, over more than a decade, become an organization that has secured national and international recognition, implementing large-scale audiovisual culture projects.

Mission Statement

To represent and foster the culture of professional short films at the national, regional, and international levels by implementing cultural education, audience development, and competency-raising initiatives. Our efforts are guided by the principles of sustainability, gender equality, inclusion, and accessibility.

The fields of activity of "Lithuanian Shorts" include:

– Distribution and promotion of short films
– Compilation and promotion of a catalog of Lithuanian short films
– Curation of short film programs
– Raising the competencies of representatives in the audiovisual field and professional development of filmmakers
– Organization of international short film industry events
– Representation of the Lithuanian short film industry
– Implementation of public cultural education and audience development initiatives

Memberships in Associations

“Lithuanian Shorts” is a member of the global short film organization “Short Film Conference”, the European short film and video art distribution network “Short Circuit”, the Nordic-Baltic Shorts Network, which unites short film organizations of the Nordic and Baltic countries, the European Women’s Audiovisual Network (EWA), the European film festival networks “Young4Film” and “The END”, and the National Association of Creative and Cultural Industries (NKIKIA).

“Lithuanian Shorts” is also one of the founders of the Film Culture Association and “Women in Film & Television Lithuania” association.
