“Comic Con Baltics”: Lithuanian short film programme FESTIVAL DARLINGS
“Comic Con Baltics” is an annual popular culture event held in Vilnius, Lithuania exhibition centre “Litexpo”. The 2019 event will take place on September 21st and 22nd.
Lithuanian Short Film Agency together with “Comic Con Baltics” presents LITHUANIAN SHORTS CINEMA HALL. Come and see many original, colourful and inspiring short films created by promising filmmakers from Lithuania and other European countries.

Festival Darlings is a brief tour of the original, ambitious, mysterious and inspiring worlds created by Lithuanian emerging filmmakers. This programme presents five short films which have proven already their quality at international festivals. And now you should see these masterpieces as well!

The Juggler / Žonglierius

We live in the same house, but in different apartments, jobs, situations, beliefs, visions; each one in our own compartment, fooling ourselves that the world is one, and that it exists. Although sometimes it seems that the incomprehensible thread has almost been caught, and I am on a verge of understanding.
The Camel / Kupranugaris

A camel dies in the local zoo. Paulius and Indre – two caretakers discover it and try to dispose of the dead animal. But it turns out to be a much harder task than they imagined.
Running Lights / Kaukai

This is a story about the eternal miracle of life and death. The unfortunate death of a wild hare turns into a remarkable experience for children who find his body and bury it in a sand box. Now buried, the hare’s life fades away and dozens of magical creatures that lived inside him leave his body in search for a new home. The hare’s life ends by merging with nature, but is reborn in the plants and animals around it. This fairy-tale for children encourages us to think about what death is.
The Mother‘s Day / Motinos diena

On mother’s day, 16-year-old Nerka, with his other friends from lower class families, have a tradition to steal flowers to give to their mothers. Even though this year is different for Nerka, as he doesn’t know where his mother lives at the moment, he is still determined to greet her. This journey reveals an unexpected truth.
The Last Day / Paskutinė diena

How would you feel if you knew your exact date of death? A time comes when every person in the world can find it out. Beloglazovai family – Kolia, Lena, their daughter Sonia and teenage son Igor live in an old house in Vilnius. Today is the day when fourteen year old Igor must die. All family members know that and in their own way are trying to deal with this burdensome waiting.
