FIVE LITAS
PENKI LITAIJozef works as a cleaner in a budget hotel. He lives the life of a recluse, a freak in society – he does not interact with his colleagues, hotel staff, and is stranger to the uncertainty and superficiality of the people around him. Josef’s only passion is collecting and growing and caring for discarded plants that are no longer needed. For Yosef, his plants are like children – what they feel, Yosef experiences. One day, on his way home from work, Yosef is stopped by a woman he doesn’t know who asks him to lend her five euros. Yosef lends the money and thinks about the woman on his way home. She seems real, different from the women he has seen around him. Suddenly, one of Yosef’s plants starts to wither. Yosef tries to save the plant, but all his efforts prove futile. Yosef meets the woman once more, their bond grows even stronger, and he returns home to find the plant almost dead. In a panic, Yosef stops the hands of the wall clock and manages to stop time. However, a woman comes to Yosef to return the five euros he borrowed. Yosef realises that he has to let go of the hands of the wall clock and let time go on again in order to take the money from the woman. He takes the note and invites the woman to come inside the house.
