Lithuanian Shorts is a Lithuanian Short Film Agency, founded in 2012, that provides a systematic and coordinated presentation and promotion of Lithuanian short films nationally and internationally.
Lithuanian Shorts is a multifunctional organisation, involved in the publishing of the catalogue of the newest Lithuanian short films, organizing a national short film stand at Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Market, Baltic Short Film Industry Event “Baltic Pitching Forum” (bpf.lt), Vilnius International Short Film Festival (filmshorts.lt), International Short Film Day in Lithuania, Baltic Short Film Script Development Residency “Baltic Shorts Residency”; a program dedicated to Lithuanian women working in film and TV industries which has a spin-off programme for women in Baltics “Baltic Women in Film Mentorship”. In 2022 the Agency launched new initiatives – a program for emerging film critics “Shorts Critics” and “Cinema Travels”, a project which involves senior citizens curating short film programmes.
Every year Lithuanian Shorts collaborates with various national and international organisations, film festivals and cinemas, curates Lithuanian short film programmes to increase the circulation of Lithuanian short films and actively promotes public awareness of the short films in Lithuania. From 2019 the Agency has started working in the short film distribution and acquisition fields presenting precisely curated short film programmes in Lithuanian cinemas and TVs.
Lithuanian Shorts is a member of a worldwide non-profit association for short film promotion “Short Film Conference”, the European Network of Short Film and Video Art Distributors “Short Circuit”, the Nordic and Baltic network of short film organisations „Nordic-Baltic Shorts Network”, European Women’s Audiovisual Network EWA and the National Association of Creative and Cultural Industries NKIKIA.
