Couples from two generations love in their own individual contexts but they do come up againts the same problems, and they deal similarly with their feelings. The film deals with human inability to pass on accumulated wisdom of offspring, reflecting impossibility of intergenerational communication. The heroes look for the right words, share their thoughts and feelings, seek to understand one another, and try to find themselves in one another. But with every generation each person has to come up with his own worldview.
