Director’s Biography
Greta Bertauskytė
Greta began her academic journey studying Communication at Vilnius University but soon realized her true passion lay in filmmaking. She enrolled at FAMU in Prague, where she immersed herself in the filmmaking world and had the opportunity to learn from acclaimed directors such as Béla Tarr and Pedro Costa. Following her time at FAMU, Greta pursued a Master’s degree in Film Directing at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, which she recently completed. Her second short film, Mommy, was showcased at FID Marseille and had its national premiere at Scanorama. Her third short film, Sometimes Her Voice, is currently in post-production and is set to premiere soon. In July 2023, Greta participated in the FID Marseille Residency for filmmakers, where she worked with renowned cinematographer Caroline Champetier, known for her collaborations with directors like Léos Carax, and acclaimed producer/director Graham Swon. Greta is now preparing for her fourth short film and developing a script for her debut feature film, continuing to explore and contribute to the cinematic landscape.
