Kavinė-bufetas
The film tells the story of Smiltė, a twelve-year-old girl who spends the summer helping her grandmother Janina at a bistro. Surrounded by three women – Janina, Antanina, and Malvina – and lots of colorful customers, Smiltė begins to learn about fantasy, true beauty, and femininity. Her childlike idealism gradually collapses when her favorite bistro visitors – beautiful, graceful, and seemingly lighthearted dancers appear on television as empty glitter with fake smiles. The bistro becomes a miniature society in which Smiltė learns how to navigate everyday reality, an experience that leaves traces for a lifetime.
