Director's biography

Urtė Oettinger

Urtė Oettinger is a Lithuanian animated film director, animator, painter, and lecturer. She graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts with her animated film “Song of Songs” (2010). Urtė’s debut short film “Independence Day” (2012) and the Lithuanian-Danish puppet film “Ragnarok” (2016) were awarded Best Animation Film by the Lithuanian Film Academy. Urtė experiments with different animation techniques and styles, including stop motion, rotoscoping, as well as hand drawn and painted animation. She currently lives and works in Aarhus, Denmark, and is a member of the Danish Animation Society.
