Director's biography

Domas Petronis

Domas Petronis – director and producer Domas Petronis graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre with a BA in Film Directing. Currently, he is working as a film director and editor. His short films “Sobaka” and “The Roots Are Bitter” were nominated for the Best Student Film in 2016 and 2017 at the National Silver Crane Film Awards. In 2017 Domas was also nominated for Best Editing with the feature film “You Can’t Escape Lithuania” (dir. Romas Zabarauskas). Domas’ short films have been screened at various film festivals worldwide, such as Lübeck Nordic Film Days, Sleepwalkers, FILMETS Badalona, Go Short, Vilnius International Film Festival, Vilnius International Short Film Festival, Scanorama, Short Riga, Amandus – Lillehammer International Student Film Festival, ZubrOFFka, and others.

Vytautas Plukas

Vytautas Plukas – screenwriter, director, and cinematographer Vytautas Plukas graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre with a BA and an MA in Cinematography. He received acclaim as the Best Young Lithuanian Cinematographer at the Golden Oak Awards 2014 for his short film “Etude”. He was also awarded prizes in the Best Cinematography and Best Lithuanian Music Video categories at Šoblės Film Festival 2011 for his music video “Gyvai – Why”.

Vytautas’s cinematography has also appeared at such festivals as Vilnius International Film Festival, Clermont-Ferrand, FILMETS Badalona, Krakow Film Festival, Curtas Vila do Conde, Behind the Curtain, and others. His documentary Gentle Warriors (dir. Marija Stonytė) premiered in 2020 and debut feature film People We Know Are Confused (dir. Tomas Smulkis) was released in 2021.
