I, Veteran

A veteran of WWII rents a room for two students. It helps her both ends meet. Before the celebration of V-Day with her friends, the old lady asks the girls to pay the rent. The girls love celebrating life every day and they are always short of money. They don’t have enough money now. The girls ask their friend Jura to help them out. Jura quickly finds out a solution: he makes the veteran drunk and steals her medals. Jura sells the medals in an antique shop and gives the money to the girls. Now they can pay the rent. The veteran goes looking for medals.

Director's biography

Darius Jarašūnas

Darius Jarašūnas was born in 1970, in Šiauliai. He studied at the Šiauliai Secondary School No.10. In 1988 moved to Vilnius. In 2003 Darius graduated from Vilnius College of Technology and Design, where he studied photography. For a long time he worked at the Lithuanian Film Studios as production manager, transportation coordinator, location manager with a wide range of international filmmakers.

In 2009 Darius Jarašūnas had a debut with the short film „Gėlė” (‘Flower’).
