Maite Alberdi
Maite Alberdi studied Film and Aesthetics at Universidad Católica de Chile. In 2011 she premiered at IDFA her first and noted feature film The Lifeguard. Through Micromundo, her production company, she directed the film Tea Time, which has was internationally acclaimed and received multiple awards: Best Female-Directed Documentary at IDFA, Best Documentary Award at Miami International Film Festival, EIDF-EBS Korea, DocsBarcelona, FICCI Cartagena, FICG Guadalajara, SANFIC Santiago. She also teaches in a documentary filmmaking workshop’s, and is a co-writer of a book called Documentary Film Theories in Chile: 1957-1973.
