Lina Mickutė
Lina Mickutė is a Vilnius-based director, producer, writer and publisher who has been working in the fields of publishing and audiovisual projects for more than a decade. In her work she brings together literature and cinema, with a strong focus on stories told both on screen and on the page.
She graduated from Kaunas University of Technology with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication Technologies (Advertising) and a Master’s degree in Technology Management (In English). She began her creative professional career as editor at the publishing house Terra Publica, later with a colleague co founded children literature publishing label 700 eilučių (“700 Lines”).
In film and the audiovisual field, Lina works as a producer on commercial projects and emerges as screenwriter and short films director. Since 2020 she has been a producer at the video ads production company Wide Wings. As a short film producer she took part in the project ODISĖJA 72 (“ODYSSEY 72”), in which Regis Pranaitis’ film Well Done was nominated for Best Cinematography and Lucky Passenger received the award for Best Production. Lina has also worked in various productions of some international projects in Lithuania.
As a writer, Lina is the author of several illustrated biographical books about the Lithuanian classics Vaižgantas, Vydūnas and Žemaitė, as well as the picture book Pasaka apie paskutinį Lietuvos princą (The Tale of the Last Lithuanian Prince), recognised as one of the most beautiful books of the year in 2021. Her writing is characterised by attention to historical figures and a strong sense of visual storytelling.
Constantly developing as a screenwriter and director, Lina takes part in creative writing, screenwriting, film directing courses and mentoring programmes.
