Lithuanian Shorts Panorama in France

Date: September-December, 2024
Location: online platforms Brefcinema, L’Extra Court and Brest European Short Film Festival

The Lithuanian Short Film Agency “Lithuanian Shorts” in collaboration with the French Short Film Agency “L’Agence du court métrage” presents a series of Lithuanian short film programs at the Brest European Short Film Festival, on the streaming platform Brefcinema
and in cinemas via L’Extra Court. Brefcinema is a platform created by L’Agence du court métrage in 2016, dedicated entirely to short films. The platform was conceived to accompany “Bref’”, the annual magazine published by L’Agence since 1989, showcasing the films featured in its pages. The platform’s content is heavily editorialized, featuring thematic selections, director and actor focuses, partnerships with festivals, and short films by directors whose features are currently in cinemas. In 1989, L’Agence du court métrage developed an ad hoc program called L’Extra Court, based on a catalogue of more than 130 films selected specifically for pre-screening. L’Extra Court showcases five new films a month and offers specific programming advice that aligns with the calendar of national feature film releases. As part of the Lithuanian Culture Season in France, six Lithuanian short films will be showcased on Brefcinema, and four Lithuanian works will be featured in L’Extra Court’s catalogue. Moreover, the Brest European Short Film Festival, the second largest short film festival in France, will present a special Lithuanian short film program at its 39th edition, taking location from November 12th to 17th, 2024.
