Lithuanian short film festival “Litauisches Kino Goes Berlin” is starting soon

Very soon, on 7-10 of October, sixth Lithuanian Film Festival “Litauisches Kino Goes Berlin” will start. With the festival itself taking place in October, “Litauisches Kino Goes Berlin” presents the multifaceted world of Lithuanian cinema created by the filmmakers based in the country or abroad: from shorts to feature films or documentaries of different genres. In 2015, the festival introduced a short film competition where the audience chooses the “Audience Award” winner.
Apart from screening brand new film productions of prominent Lithuanian filmmakers, the festival also helps to discover the new talents and wunderkinds. It also brings to light the well-known film classics. This makes the festival the unique opportunity to get to know films which are not accessible in Germany otherwise.
The festival not only brings up films to its audience, but also introduces creators from the arts and music scene, seeking to give insights into the broader cultural context as well as to express the unique identity of Lithuanian culture.
“Litauisches Kino Goes Berlin”, the only Lithuanian film festival outside the home country, is supported by the Lithuanian Ministry of Culture as well as the Lithuanian Council of Culture and is implemented with the support and partially financed by the program “Global Lithuania“.
This year, 20 short films will take part in five of the festival programs: “Igloo”, “Woods”, “Lying Down”, “Polar Party”, “IFT (Ice Fishing Trip)”, “Cats of Amber Bay”, “Juniper Crescent”, “Life Is Beautiful and Neverending”, “Dembava”, “Layers”, “Back”, “Houly Pouly”, “There Are No Tulips”, “The Amateurs”, “The Morning After”, “Junction”, “The Trolleybus Man”, “The Lovely Savages”, “Heaven Too Close”, “Hunt”.
